WeRV Power powered by Prime Battery Solutions

Travel trailer battery planning

A trailer on hookups needs far less battery than one that dry camps for several nights in a row.

Towable RV power

Estimate the battery your trailer needs for lights, the furnace, the water pump, fridge controls, the TV, inverter loads and solar.

The furnace and the inverter add up

A propane furnace still runs its blower on 12V power. Anything on the inverter loses some power when it is turned into AC, and those loads can take most of the bank.

  • Count the hours the furnace blower runs
  • List DC loads apart from inverter loads
  • Plan for the longest off grid stay you will really take

Your tow vehicle may not charge enough

The wiring, the voltage lost at the connector and the tow vehicle itself can all limit the charge that reaches the trailer. Check the real charging path.

  • Measure the charging voltage at the battery
  • Check that the charging works with lithium
  • Use the right wire size, fuses and breakers

Advanced options

Plan around how you use the battery

Use this when you know your system voltage, daily energy use, cart setup or accessory load.

No login needed
For modest RV use, start with 800 to 1,500Wh a day. Then adjust it from your real loads.

Sources and limits

Check the exact specs, cycle life, charging settings and fit against the chosen maker’s current datasheet and the equipment maker’s rules. We show the planning formulas so a technician can review the math.
